Are your B vitamins making you feel worse instead of better?

Methylated B vitamins can be incredibly helpful for energy, homocysteine metabolism, neurological health, and many essential processes. But the right nutrient can become the wrong dose for your body.

If you have been taking methylfolate, methylcobalamin, TMG, or several overlapping methylation products, watch for changes such as:

• Irritability

• Anxiety or restlessness

• Trouble sleeping

• Brain fog

• Fatigue

• Feeling “wired but tired”

• Difficulty concentrating

Practitioners often describe this pattern as “overmethylation.” More precisely, it may be a sensitivity or adverse response to supplemental methyl donors.

These symptoms can have many possible causes, so they do not prove that methylation is the problem. But if they appeared after starting a new B vitamin or increasing your dose, it may be time to review every supplement you are taking.

At Purser Wellness, we believe in a personalized, Start Low, Go Slow approach. Sometimes you need methylated nutrients. Sometimes you need a smaller dose, a different form, or support for another pathway entirely.
