Tired, foggy, low hormones, and nothing helps? It’s probably not magic—it’s nutrient deficiency. Dr. Purser uses CMA with Redox testing to go deeper than your average doctor ever will. He sees severe lipoic acid, biotin, PQQ, and lithium deficiencies causing symptoms that mimic dementia, thyroid issues, or low testosterone. It’s not “manopause”—it’s vitaminopause. Find the root cause, don’t just chase prescriptions.
Dr. Purser explains the benefits of healthy zinc blood levels, and the struggles that may arise due to lack of zinc. Learn why zinc is critical for functionality in your thyroid gland, thyroid receptors, and insulin receptors. Learn how zinc deficiencies may cause symptoms of diabetes or hypothyroidism. Discover zinc's relationship to the body's ability to manufacture testosterone (in both men and women). Learn about the relationship of low zinc levels and osteoporosis. Learn how zinc protects you from metal toxicity, particularly copper toxicity. Contact us at (801) 796-7667 or info@danpurser
Loss of libido and muscle in menopause often points to low testosterone. Supporting with PD 80/20 (pregnenolone and DHEA) or its cream version, Pregnenolone Plus, can help restore testosterone levels naturally, improving energy and intimacy.

PD 80/20 is a supplement designed to raise three key hormones in women—DHEA, pregnenolone, and testosterone. It’s especially useful for restoring testosterone naturally, though it doesn’t typically resolve vaginal dryness unless paired with other therapies. Safe and effective, it gives women an accessible way to boost hormone balance.

Thyroid health remains essential during menopause. Optimal labs should show FT3 around 4.0 and FT4 near 1.5, and testing through Direct Labs makes it easy to track. Supporting with supplements like Thyromin can help, but only if guided by accurate lab results.

Osteoporosis often strikes after menopause because hormones like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA are what push vitamins, minerals, and amino acids into bones—without them, bones weaken quickly.

About 95% of hot flashes are caused by low progesterone, while estradiol explains around 3% and testosterone about 1%. Rarely, thyroid or other factors may contribute, but progesterone is the main player.

Menopause isn’t just “no period for six months.” True menopause is when your ovaries stop responding to the pituitary, LH and FSH skyrocket, and female hormones—estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA—drop to near zero.

What are the main nutrient deficiencies associated with Low T? Zinc, arginine, carnitine and B12. That’s right. Deal with these few and watch those Testosterone levels soar. This is just the base mind you, but it is the root cause.
What are the top hormones I see deficiencies in during menopause??
1. Testosterone
2. DHEA
3. Progesterone
4. Estradiol
What can you do to treat these? And naturally?
Wow I see all this almost every day in my office -- same exact thyroid related medical issues/complaints. After ten years of endocrinology research and 33 years in practice, I've concluded that a lot of my fellow doctors weren't really taught the nuances of thyroid care. Those include how patients need levels optimized, or how to really listen to patient's symptoms (and treat accordingly), and which labs to get at what time. So, I always tell patients to believe their ‘lying eyes’ (their symptoms are real), and not always the lab results (which can be inaccurate or not interpreted correctly).
Best match puts all-term matches before partial matches and related reading. Identical social posts and matching long titles across other sources are grouped when access is the same. Search covers published titles, descriptions, available article text, report overviews, and the full text of the nutrient, gene and learning-essential reference pages. Books, uploaded chapters and downloads-page reports are searchable through selected editorial guides and topic names; the original files and full book text are not published. Full Drive reports are not copied into search. Substack subscriber titles and public summaries are included; full subscriber content opens on Substack. Video transcripts are added when available.
